Terms of Service
These Terms govern use of Variant Guard by a Shopify merchant. By installing or using the app, you confirm that you have authority to act for the applicable store.
The service
Variant Guard scans authorized product and inventory data for catalog issues and provides merchant-controlled workflows for supported fixes. Shopify remains the system of record. The app does not guarantee that a catalog is complete, error-free, legally compliant, or accepted by a marketplace, carrier, supplier, or standards organization.
Merchant responsibilities
You must review scan results and fix previews before acting. You remain responsible for product data, backups, identifier allocation, legal obligations, and changes made by staff or other apps. You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, or submit malicious content.
SKU, barcode, and GTIN notice
Variant Guard checks formats and GTIN checksums and can generate missing SKUs from merchant-selected templates. It does not issue, sell, register, certify, or establish ownership of UPCs, EANs, GTINs, or other barcodes. A checksum result does not prove that an identifier is assigned to a merchant or product.
Changes and conflicts
Catalog scans are read-only. Supported writes require an explicit preview and confirmation. The app attempts to skip a row when Shopify data changed after preview, but concurrent systems and network failures can create partial or delayed outcomes. Review operation results and the Shopify catalog after every bulk action.
Plans and billing
Current plans, included features, limits, prices, and trial periods appear in Shopify App Pricing and the App Store listing. Shopify processes app charges. Upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, refunds, taxes, and billing cycles are subject to Shopify's applicable terms and the plan details shown before confirmation.
Availability, support, and termination
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Shopify, hosting, network, and other dependencies can delay scans or fixes. Support is provided under the Support Policy.
You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time. We may suspend access for security threats, unlawful use, non-payment handled through Shopify, material breach, or platform requirements. Uninstall and deletion are handled under the Data Retention Policy.
Privacy and intellectual property
The Privacy Policy explains information processing. Commerce App Foundry and its licensors retain rights in the app, documentation, branding, and software. Merchants retain rights in their store data and authorize its limited processing to operate, secure, and support the app.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, Commerce App Foundry is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption. Aggregate liability arising from the app will not exceed the fees paid for the app during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. We may update these Terms and will publish a new effective date or provide notice when required.
